March 2024 Reflection

Celebrating 10 years of the Mia Moo Fund!
March Reflection

Hey guys! Mia here! This month has been crazy busy but crazy fun! My group went to Guatemala for a little bit and we got to do some mission work there! It was an amazing experience and it definitley made me get out of my comfort zone! I also conquered my fear of horses and rode on horseback up a mountain to see a volcano!
Hard to believe I go home next month! This time has been so sweet and simple and I am so grateful for it!
I hope you all had an amazing March and a very happy Easter! Love you all!

xoxo,
MIA

MARCH RECIPIENT
This is Toby!  He loves Jesus and his family!  He also loves sports and enjoys watching the Oklahoma Sooners and Oklahoma City Thunder, and he is about to start playing flag football for the first time!  At school, he works hard and helps his teachers and friends.  At Gana's farm, he loves being around his cousins and loving on her sweet puppies!  His resilience and strength continues to amaze us, and we are blessed to have our Mia Moo family on this journey with us! ~Toby's Mom
SPOTTED!
Mia and her roommates taking a group photo in Antigua Guatemala a few weeks ago, after getting ice-cream of course! Such a beautiful city!

POSITIVITY CORNER!
After some devastating news about our daughter, I was lying in bed crying out to God wondering if He heard me. At that very moment, a dear friend that we met at our very first Mia Moo Fun Day texted me. She knew our situation and could have chosen to just pray for us quietly at home. Instead, she took a few moments to encourage me and let me know that we were on her mind and heart. In that small act, I found a great amount of comfort. God used her to let me know that He was there with me. He heard my cries. Had she not been obedient to the Holy Spirit, I would have been left feeling alone in my despair.
If God puts someone on your heart, take a few moments and let them know you’re thinking of them. It can make a world of difference.

WHERE ARE THEY NOW?
Our Abby is turning 10 in a few short weeks! It is so crazy how time has flown by since we have been blessed by the Mia Moo fund when she was just 5 months old! She was the very first child to receive assistance from the Mia Moo Fund. Although her fierce and feisty attitude tests me some days, Abby is a well mannered and well rounded kid. She tries anything and everything and doesn’t give up till she has it down! She is an all A student with strengths in reading books and creative writing. She won first place in UIL creative writing last year! She plays many sports and loves to game in her free time when she isn’t reading, drawing, writing or playing with her sisters! She has the best personality, the biggest help around the house and her strength is admirable for all she’s gone through. We are looking at finding out about her bone graft surgery and next steps going forward in this Cleft journey in May!   Rebecca ~ Abby's mom
